Overview
RANKAN is designed with privacy as a core principle. We don't collect your data, we don't track you, and we don't run servers. Everything happens on your device and the local mesh network between nearby devices.
Data That Stays On Your Device
- Location Data: Used for the map and group tracking. Shared only with connected group members. Never sent to any server.
- Voice Communications: Transmitted only to connected group members via the mesh network. Not recorded or stored.
- Trip Data: Trip codes, member lists, and logs stored locally on your device.
Data We Don't Collect
- No accounts — no email, no phone number, no personal information
- No analytics or telemetry
- No third-party SDKs or tracking pixels
- No advertising identifiers
- No server-side data storage of any kind
Third-Party Services
RANKAN uses Apple MapKit for map tiles. Standard map tile requests may be logged by Apple per their privacy policy. No personally identifiable information is shared with Apple through RANKAN.
